Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the SFCSS Alumni Marketplace ("Marketplace"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. The Marketplace is available exclusively to verified members of the St Francis Catholic Secondary School Alumni Network.

2. Eligibility

• You must have a verified alumni account to buy or sell on the Marketplace.
• You must be at least 18 years old or the legal age of majority in your jurisdiction.
• One store per alumni account is permitted.

3. Buyer Responsibilities

• Provide accurate shipping/contact information when placing orders.
• Pay for products and services as agreed at checkout.
• Leave honest, fair reviews based on genuine experiences.
• Report any issues with orders within 14 days of delivery.

4. Vendor Responsibilities

• Provide accurate descriptions, pricing, and images for all products and services.
• Fulfil orders promptly and communicate delays to buyers.
• Comply with all applicable laws regarding the products or services you sell.
• Do not list prohibited items (see Section 5).
• Respond to buyer enquiries within 48 hours.

5. Prohibited Items & Conduct

The following are strictly prohibited:

• Illegal goods or services
• Counterfeit or pirated goods
• Weapons, drugs, or controlled substances
• Discriminatory, hateful, or offensive content
• Services that facilitate academic dishonesty
• Multi-level marketing or pyramid schemes
• Misleading or deceptive listings

6. Payments

All transactions are in Nigerian Naira (₦). We facilitate payments through integrated payment providers (Paystack) and bank transfers. We are not a party to transactions between buyers and vendors.

7. Intellectual Property

You retain ownership of content you upload. By listing products/services, you grant us a non-exclusive licence to display your content on the Marketplace. You warrant that your listings do not infringe third-party intellectual property rights.

8. Disputes

We encourage buyers and vendors to resolve disputes directly. If unable to resolve, either party may file a dispute through the Marketplace. We will mediate in good faith but are not liable for the outcome of transactions.

9. Limitation of Liability

The Marketplace is provided "as is." We are not liable for the quality, safety, or legality of items listed, the truth of listings, or the ability of vendors to fulfil orders. Our maximum liability shall not exceed the fees we collected on the transaction in question.

10. Account Suspension

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate stores that violate these Terms, receive repeated complaints, or engage in fraudulent activity. We will provide notice and an opportunity to respond where reasonably possible.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or marketplace notification. Continued use constitutes acceptance of updated Terms.
